Description

Project Number: 675-11-136 This is a pre-solicitation announcement by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Activity 8, Service Area Office-East, Orlando Florida for a construction of project entitled �Repair and Renovate the Community Living Center (CLC) �. The work will be performed at the Orlando VA Medical Center (OVAMC), located at 5201 Raymond Street, Orlando, FL 32803. Project Description: This Two-Phase Design-Build project will renovate two (2) existing roofed areas within the (CLC) Community Living Center area for useable square footage. Specifically, the New Chapel area of 522 SF which is a screen room will be closed in for use as a Chapel/Multipurpose room. The old covered Ambulance pick-up area will be closed in to construct a much needed Nursing Station. This is a Design Build project as defined at FAR 36.102. A Two-Phase Design-Build selection procedure will be used by the Department of Veterans Affairs to select a qualified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) contractor to provide all labor, materials, supervision, tools, and equipment necessary to perform the construction project. To all interested parties, it is anticipated that a Request for Phase I Proposals (RFP) will be issued on or about 27 April 2011. The Government contemplates the award of a Firm Fixed Price contract resulting from the solicitation. This procurement is a 100% SET-ASIDE to eligible Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) firms only. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220. The size standard is $14.0 million. In accordance with VAAR 836.204, disclosure of the magnitude of this construction project is between $250,000 and $500,000. Details of all dates and events, including site visit will be available in the solicitation. Interested firms are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all solicitation documents and/or amendments to the solicitation. Therefore all interested firms should re-visit the Federal Business Opportunities website periodically to look for any updates or amendments.
