Description
Amendment 001 F- Cutler Meadows Restoration Project is located on the Gardiner Ranger District in portions of Section 2,3 & 11 of Township 8 South, Range 7 East. From Corwin Springs turn off Hyw. 89 and cross Yellowstone river. Turn right, heading South on the gravel county road that parellels the river between Gardiner to the South and Yankee Jim Canyon to the North. Go approximately 4 miles South on the county road. Cutler Meadows is located to the right just after the county road drops off a bluff. The site is located between the county road and the Yellowstone river. Work consists of rehabilitation activities (noxius weed spraying, strip plowing, site preperation, light tillage)on approximately 155 acres. Varying reclamation strategies and treatments will be used on different portions of the area. The area contains three seperate landform types. Upper river terrace, low terrace and colluvial footslope/bench. Each area has a distinct difference in soil properties. Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except designated as govt. furnished) and incidentals to perform all work necessary on the areas specified. All aspects of the work shall be performed in an organized, systematic manner to assure services will be performed over the entire unit. Price range of services is between $25,000 and $150,000. Period of performance for this mutiple year contract is estimated to be 45 total days w/in the 29 month performance period. 12-18 days/year are estimated with a winter shutdown each season. Work is estimated to start around May 1, 2011 and continue through September 30, 2013. Work periods will be determined largely by site conditions. Most work will be completed in the spring months of each year. Addiditonal work can be performed in the early fall period. Little or no work will be performed during the summer. Timing of tilling, seeding and weed control is critical to the success of this project. A pre-bid tour will not be held. For further information or directions, please call Tom Keck 406-587-6714.
