- The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Atlanticintends to issue a sole source contract to Kongsberg Underwater Technology,Inc., 19210 33rd Ave West STE A, Lynnwood, WA 98036. This requirement willprocure approximately six HiPAP Acoustic Processing Systems (APS) andancillary support services in support of T-AGS 60 class oceanographic surveyships. The government's minimum requirements for the APS include: - Must be able to be remotely deployed or retrieved from the ships mainlaboratory either by a hydraulic or electric mechanism via a single thru-hullmounted gate valve assembly. - Must be able to extend between 2.5 and 3.0 meters below the hull. - Be capable of operation with the transducer fully extended at ship speeds upto 10 knots. - Have a viewing cone below the ship of 190 degrees (allows tracking ofsurface targets to approximately 49 meters from the ship). - Be capable of monitoring the constant position of multiple transpondersabove the horizontal axis while taking into account the 8 degree roll and 3degree pitch characteristics of the Pathfinder class ships. A commercial firm-fixed-price contract issued in accordance with the testprogram implemented by FAR Subpart 13.5 is anticipated. The applicableNorth American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 334511 and the sizestandard is 750 employees. THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVEPROPOSALS.
