INDUSTRY NOTICE DATE: _April 12, 2011_________ An Industry Day Conference will be held on 11 May 2011, at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Research and Development Headquarters (ORD) located at 131 M Street, NE; Washington DC, 20002; from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm (EST) in Conference Room 23. The Industry Conference will start at 9:00 am and due to the limited timeframe topics will only be covered once. Therefore, full attendance is highly recommended. The conference will consist of a briefing on the Department of Veterans Affairs National Genomics Sampling, followed by an open question and answer session. At the conference, an overview of current issues, uses, capability, needs and constraints will be discussed. Material presented and discussed at the Industry Day Conference will be informational only. All official requirements and information regarding this conference and any resulting Request for Proposal (RFP) will be posted on FEDBIZOPPS or GSA EBUY. This notice should not be construed (1) as a commitment by the Department of Veterans Affairs to enter into an agreement with any entity participating in the industry day conference, (2) as a commitment to issue a solicitation, or (3) as a request for proposals. The purpose of this Industry Day notice is to acquire information from Contractors who have expertise and capability to collect and ship blood specimens from a nationwide network while interfacing with VA's GenISIS database system. A formal solicitation has not yet been developed, however a solicitation is planned for release during fiscal year 2011. Any detailed requirements and instructions will be provided through a formal solicitation. The solicitation when released will only be available on the FEDBIZOPPS or GSA EBUY website. All questions regarding the solicitation will be required to be submitted via email to the Contracting Officer (CO) listed in the solicitation. Questions and/or responses discussed at the Industry Day Conference will be posted on the FEDBIZOPPS and GSA EBUY website. All vendors are required to (1) pre-register due to security requirement in gaining access to the building; (2) provide their companies name and the number of attendees; and (3) submit all questions to the CO, in writing at the conference or via e-mail to Bradley.King3@va.gov by (6 May 2011). No tape recording or videotaping is allowed at the conference. The Government requests that industry utilize the FEDBIZOPPS and/or GSA EBUY website as their source for obtaining updates regarding this requirement.
