Description
RFP for business plan The Columbia River Inter Tribal Fish Commission (CRITFC) is accepting proposals to develop a business plan for a fish processing center located at Bingen, WA. The CRITFC is a technical support resource for fishery management policies of the Columbia River Basin's four treaty tribes- the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation, the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation of Oregon, and the Nez Perce Tribe. The CRITFC is assisting with implementation activities for the plant and will help coordinate the process for the development of the business plan, including the selection of the contractor to perform the work. The fish processing center will provide an opportunity for the tribes to take greater control of their natural resources and to become a player in the marketplace. It will provide a facility where fish harvested in the treaty fishery can be processed in accordance with federal food safety standards and to meet custom orders. This RFP requests prospective entities to develop a business plan for the fish processing facility. A feasibility study was completed in 2006, which will be provided to the selected contractor. The new business plan should include an analysis of the market, products, key factors, equipment, financial components and management structure for a fish processing business at a location along the Columbia River. Some analysis will be required to determine the adding other components to the plan (e.g., business incubator, ice sales). See the attached RFP for more information
