Description
Draft Specification for Manufacture of Open Link, Welded Steel Chain and Bridles (Spec. No. 377 Rev L) Market Survey Sources Sought for HSCG84-12--AAS206 - Small Buoy Chains The US Coast Guard seeks interest in manufacturing and delivery of open-link, welded steel chain (buoy chain) and bridles for use as mooring aids-to-navigation buoys in the coastal and inland waters of the United States. A copy of the specifications for manufacture is attached for reference. This is a sources sought/market survey announcement targeting companies that can provide all necessary materials, labor, equipment, facilities and supervision to fabricate and ship buoy chain and bridles. The Government anticipates issuing a single solicitation with the possibility of awarding multiple Indefinite-Delivery Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contracts. In an effort to determine the number of potential sources and each source's manufacturing capabilities all interested vendors are asked to complete the attached survey identifying what specific chain sizes the vendor is able to manufacture without subcontracting. In addition, each vendor is also asked to provide: a point of contact, identify its business size (large, small, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business or women-owned small business concerns), and provide relevant past performance information. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. This announcement is to gain industry information in the development of the acquisition plan and in no way obligates the government. Interested vendors should submit the requested information via email to Jessica.L.Coltz@uscg.mil or fax to 757-628-4135, NLT 27 April 2011 at 3:00 PM (EST). No other sources sought notice will be provided. Competition and set-aside decisions may be based on the results of this market research. No solicitation exists at this time; therefore, please do not request a copy of the solicitation. This notice is for market research purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for information solicited. NAICS: The NAICS code is 332111.
