Small Business Set-Aside: Total Small Business
Description: This is a pre-solicitation notice for a contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and supervision necessary to construct one each Engineered Log Jam and five each Log Reinforced Structures to deflect flow and provide long term protection of park facilities on the south bank of the Carbon River, along Carbon River Road within Mount Rainier National Park, Washington. Work includes protecting park facilities (including a Maintenance Yard, and a half-mile of existing parking and roadway near the Park's entrance), as well as protecting vegetation, grading, diverting the Carbon River, and erosion control measures. The NAICS code is 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction. The small business size standard is $33,500,000. This project is being solicited and awarded in accordance with the Small Business Act, 15 U.S.C. 631 et seq., and is set aside exclusively to certified small businesses. The magnitude of construction is for this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Solicitation number N9455110002, with specifications, drawings, and wage rates, will be posted to http:///www.fbo.gov and http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about April 15, 2011 with a response date 30 days thereafter. A site visit has been scheduled to take place at Mt. Rainier National Park (at the project site) Thursday, April 28, 2011. Details of site visit will be in solicitation section L, clause 52.236-27. A negotiated firm-fixed price contract will be awarded requiring submission of both a technical and a price proposal.
