Description
This synopsis is to inform industry that the Government intends to exercise Option Period 3 under contract W917PM-08-D-0001. Contract W917PM-08-D-0001 is for Reconstruction Security Support Services throughout Afghanistan. The Performance Work Statement sets forth the following requirements under this contract: comprehensive security, operations and intelligence service to secure and account for AED personnel and provide construction quality assurance activities, that include, but are not limited to: nationwide operational oversight, threat analysis, convoy transportation and security, personal protective services, static site security, community liaison activities, local atmospherics, supply and maintenance of armored vehicles, establishment, maintenance and management of a nationwide, visual map-based satellite tracking product, establishment, maintenance and management of a nationwide voice and text communication network, possible vetting of third-party employees. By exercising this option, the ordering period under this base contract will be extended to 11 November 2011. W917PM-08-D-0001 is a Single Award Task Order Contract and the current contractor is Global Integrated Security (USA), Inc., 1775 Wiehle Avenue, Suite 103, Reston, VA 20190. After exercising Option Period 3, the total capacity under this contract will increase by $26,000,000.00 from $124,000,000.00 to $150,000,000.00. The place of performance is Afghanistan. At the sole discretion of the Government, Option Period 4 may be exercised at a later date. If Option Period 4 is exercised, the total capacity under this contract will increase by $16,000,000.00 from $150,000,000.00 to $166,000,000.00. If exercised, the base contract ordering period will be extended through 11 February 2012. Industry may provide comments on this notice and all comments received before 29 April 2011 will be considered. THIS NOTICE IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF INFORMING INDUSTRY THAT THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO EXERCISE OPTION PERIOD 3 UNDER CONTRACT W917PM-08-D-0001. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS.
