- Description
- Southern Region Contracting Office intends to award a contract under FAR Part 6.302-1 to Containment Technologies for repair and certification of critical isolation chambers located in the Pharmacy of Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell, KY. The repair of the chambers and certification requires Original Equipment Manufactured (OEM) parts replacement and support of trained technicians. Contractor shall provide services in compliance with the Customer Maintenance Plan for the isolation chambers located at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell, KY. Coverage includes all parts, all labor and travel charges, unlimited telephonic technical support, and priority customer response as well as certification of the chambers. The contractor will provide: all required parts to repair the equipment back to a serviceable condition in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications, priority phone support along with continuous product information updates and bulletins. Contractor will provide replacement parts as follows: One End Panel with new airlock and all certification testing for compliance within The Joint Commission Standards directly regulated by the United Pharmacopeia in Chapter 797. The required parts are to be delivered and installed to the Blanchard Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell, KY., by Containment Technologies. All certification testing will be conducted by the Containment Technologies staff member. Containment Technologies is the OEM of the repair parts and manufacturer trained technicians for the equipment to be covered and serviced. Containment Technologies has OEM factory trained personnel who have immediate access to the OEM parts. The parts used in the isolation chambers are proprietary to them. Failure to use the OEM parts will not work on the existing equipment. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Containment Technologies is the only source of authorized replacement parts for these two units that are already in place. The proposed contract action is for parts for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
