- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to negotiate a sole source purchase order under Simplified Acquisition Procedures to HTX Technologies LLC., P.O. Box 1036, Carrboro, NC 27510 for the acquisition of a HTX Technologies TM-Sprayer platform. The HTX Technologies TM-Sprayer platform reproducibly and uniformly sprays matrix solution onto thin tissue slices for mass spectrometry imaging. The new technology created by HTX Technologies is proprietary and patented, as it uses new controlled gas flow and digital technology to control the reproducibility of the spray pattern, which directly relates to improved data quality control. When coupled with mass spectrometry this instrument will provide for greater sensitivity, reproducibility and resolution of peptides and proteins in thin tissue samples which will have a direct positive impact on the quality assurance of the research. EPA has identified HTX Technologies, the only vendor capable of satisfy the requi rement. The circumstance permitting is FAR 6.301-1, ?only one responsible source?. The intent of this notice is to determine if any other source(s) exist, and therefore, no solicitation (RFQ) is available. Consequently, any response failing to provide the aforementioned data and instead choosing to merely submit a routine letter requesting a copy of the RFQ will be ignored. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested parties who can meet the above requirements may submit written qualification statements, fully explaining their capability no later than 10 days after the date of this publication.
