Description
The purpose of this amendment is to update current research topics, incorporate additional subsection research interest areas and incorporate other administrative changes. BAA W91CRB-08-R-0073 (ARL - HRED STTC) ISSUE DATE: 11 August 2008 BAA EXPIRATION DATE: 11 AUGUST 2013 THIS BAA SHALL REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL SUPERCEDED OR EXPIRED The U.S. Army Contracting Command on behalf of ARL - HRED STTC issues this BAA under the provisions of paragraphs 35.016 and 6.102(d)(2) of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), which provides for the competitive selection of research proposals. Contract(s) based on responses to this BAA are in full compliance with the provisions of PL 98-369, "The Competition in Contracting Act of 1984" and any subsequent amendments. STTC through the U.S. Army Contracting Command, contracts with educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and private industry for Research and Development (R&D) in those areas covered in Part II of this BAA. Proposed efforts should address issues in all domains including Advanced Concepts and Requirements and Research, Development and Acquisition. Although not required for eligibility under this BAA, Contractors are encouraged to consider cost sharing schemes in cooperation with STTC. RESEARCH AREAS OF INTERESTS STTC has the mission to develop and advance the state-of-the-art in simulation, training, learning and instrumentation technologies with the overall goal of producing more efficient and effective Army training, test and evaluation systems. Programs funded under this BAA will include exploratory and advanced research related to this mission, as well as, technology demonstrations. Collaboration between universities and industrial companies is encouraged. Projects should take maximum advantage of existing university and industry research and engineering programs and facilities, and those of the Army's sister DOD services. It is envisioned that project emphasis will be in those areas that: explore and develop novel applications of new simulation, training and instrumentation technologies; explore new methods of implementing instructional principles in training devices; and foster productive and synergistic working relationships through interdisciplinary groups in which instructional specialists, engineers, psychologists and other specialists can work together to optimally develop technologies for equipment to train and assess the Army's current and future forces. Tactical Engagement Simulation Sensor Technology for Live Training 6A-3. Position, Location, and Tracking for Live Training 6B. Training Application Environments Medical 6C. Training Application Environments Dismounted Soldier TOPIC 7. MODELING AND TRAINING SIMULATION RESEARCH TOPIC 8. ADL CO-LAB COLLABORATION 8A. Learning Architectures 8B. Immersive Technologies 8C. Intelligent Systems Architectures 8D. Mobile Learning and Social Web TOPIC 9. DAU COLLABORATION TOPIC 10. SPECIFIC DoD COLLABORATION 10A.
