- Description
- The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Digestive, Diabetes & Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) intends to procure the following items: Brand Name or Equal to: LifeSource Biomedical High performance 1.8X10mm NMR Rotors, tested 50 KHz. NIDDK requires rotors (i.e., specialized sample containers) for use with an existing ultra-high-speed magic-angel spinning (MAS) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) probe, for structural studies of amyloid fibrils, viral capsids, and other biological materials by solid state NMR methods. The existing probe was manufactured for NIDDK on a custom basis by a research group in the country of Estonia. To be compatible with our existing MAS NMR probe from Estonia, the rotors must have precisely the correct dimensions and must be manufactured from a special high performance silicon nitride material. It is also essential that each rotor be tested individually at spinning rates up to 50 kHz. The equal items must meet the characteristics of the brand name item to be acceptable for award. Basis for Award: Offerors must provide descriptive literature or other material that demonstrates their offer meets the forgoing requirements. Consistent with FAR Part 13.106, the contract will be awarded to the responsible offeror whose offer fully meets the requirements of the solicitation, provides the best value, with price and technical factors equally important in award evaluation. Offerors may request a copy of the Request for Quotation (RFQ) in writing or by FAX to 301-480-8501 to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. It is anticipated that RFQ NIHLM201140 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. If you have any question regarding this announcement, please contact Ms. V. Lynn Griffin. Request for copies of the RFQ must be submitted to the National Library of Medicine, 6707 Democracy Boulevard, Two Democracy Plaza, Room 773, Bethesda, MD 20892 or via email: griffinv@mail.nih.gov to the Attention of V. Lynn Griffin. FAX quotations must contain offerors name, address, telephone number and fax number. FAX quotations will be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative. All requests for quotations must have a valid email address. PLEASE NOTE: In order to receive an award, contractor must be registered and have valid certification in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) http://www.ccr.gov
