- Description
- SF-33 J-1 Work Items J-2 through J-10 The Military Sealift Command assumed operation of the USS FRANK CABLE (AS 40) on 1 February 2010. An availability was conducted in FY 10 to effect many habitability modifications as well as some maintenance and repair. Beginning on 15 February 2012, MSC will put the AS 40 into a Regular Overhaul and Dry-docking with a period of performance of approximately 120 days at a West Coast or Pacific Shipyard to continue with some remaining conversion modifications as well as extensive maintenance and repair. The modifications that are required are to better equip the vessel for MSC''s reduced manning profile. Several new systems are being installed to allow for MSC operation. For purposes of submittal of technical proposal the USS FRANK CABLE (AS-40), will be available for a ship check at POLARIS POINT GUAM, CNMI 28 April, 2011 through 5 May 2011, from 8:00AM to 4:00PM, LOCAL TIME. Inspection is not mandatory and shall be at the offer's expense. All offerors who plan to inspect the vessel should be registered with MSC NLT 1630 on 22 April 2011. Participants shall be required to e-mail an attachment with the following information on company letterhead prior to the deadline: Full name of each individual who will be attending, full Social Security Number, Date of Birth, Place of Birth, Citizenship and clearance level (if any) showing the granting agency date of clearance, and length of visit. Offerors must provide a list of specific attendees only. DO NOT SUBMIT "BLANKET" LISTS. The request should state that the individual will be attending a shipcheck for USS FRANK CABLE (AS-40). The information must be provided to stephen.t.hughes@navy.mil. Personnel who fail to pre-register will, at best, experience protracted delays in accessing the vessel. A second inspection will NOT be scheduled. Shipyards are limited to seven (7) individuals on the ship check. GFI and References in Work Items (J-1) are available via CD upon request.
