Description
1. STATEMENT OF WORK a. Open-End Construction is an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ ) contract which encompasses a broad range of repair and minor construction work on real property located at the following location: Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital 5000 S. 5th Avenue Hines, Illinois 60141-5000 During the contract period, the engineers at each location will identify projects for Task Orders (TOs) which will be issued by the Contracting Officer. The Government has the right to withdraw a proposed Task Order (TO) before acceptance by the Government. b. The offeror/contractor shall, furnish all materials, equipment and personnel necessary to accomplish each Task Order (TO). TOs will vary in size and dollar amounts. TOs will focus on projects where the PRIMARY work involves Mechanical, Electrical and/or Plumbing (MEP) work. Excluded are projects that FOCUS primarily on construction disciplines WITH MINIMAL ATTENTION PAID TO MEP work. Also EXCLUDED are projects for medical facilities engineering support services, such as utility plant operation, custodial, grounds maintenance, and similar work. No TO will include Architect/Engineering services, however, shop drawings and as built drawings shall be provided by the contractor. c. The contractor shall be located, either by virtue of his main office or a satellite operation base, within an area permitting a maximum of a four (4) hour response time to the Hospital. Said office or satellite base must be operational at contract award and throughout the duration of the contract, and shall be open for business from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.
