Description

Provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment supervision necessary to complete construction project 521-10-115, Replace Coolers, Main Kitchen, at VA Medical Center, 700 South 19th Street, Birmingham, Alabama 35233, in accordance with plans and specifications. Work includes, but is not limited to installation of pumps, piping, controls, insulation, and power complete as shown on specs and drawings. Work also includes plumbing work, mechanical work, electrical work, utility systems, removal of existing structures and construction as necessary. The estimated dollar value of construction is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. Estimated invitation for bid issue date is on or about May 10, 2011, with an estimated bid opening date of June 10, 2011. The National American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 236220 for this procurement with a size standard of $33.5 million. This solicitation is a total set-aside for service disabled veteran-owned small businesses. All SDVOSBs must be CVE certified to receive award. There will be a pre-bid walk through of the project and it is highly recommended that any contractor wishing to bid on this project should attend the walk through. The pre-bid walk through time and location will be addressed in the solicitation. The invitation for bid package will be available for downloading from the website www.fbo.gov. No hard copies of the solicitation will be provided. All questions regarding this invitation for bid must be submitted in writing to Tracy Riley, Contracting Officer, by e-mail to tracy.riley2@va.gov. Any amendments issued to this invitation for bid will be available only at the website www.fbo.gov. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR WORK AT THE VA MEDICAL CENTER, BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA.
