Description
The Fleet Industrial Supply Center (FISC), Norfolk, Contracting Department, Philadelphia Office intends to procure one (1) year renewal membership in the Santa Fe Institute (SFI) Business Network in Santa Fe, New Mexico for the Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC). SFI is a non-profit private research institute, which focuses on narrow, tactical approaches to business-specific questions, Network members and SFI scientists explore fundamental principles and are in the forefront of the scientific understanding of complex systems at all scales. The member benefits include the following but not limited to: - Attend the Annual Business Network and Board of Trustees' Symposium, held each November. - Participate in Theme Weeks at SFI. - Attend Business Network Topical Meetings on subjects of interest suggested by members. Topical Meetings are held throughout the year and at a variety of locations. - Admission to SFI ™s highly competitive Complex Systems Summer School (CSSS) and Global Sustainability Summer School (GSSS) in Santa Fe. -Attend short courses on complexity organized by SFI in various locations nationwide - The opportunity to spend up to four weeks at SFI via the Business Network Fellowship Program. - Receive monthly electronic updates and announcements. - Receive access to the Business Network community website CASITA (Complex Adaptive Systems IT Area). - Receive select volumes published throughout the year by SFI and SFI-affiliated authors. - Receive or access online select articles on monthly basis - Receive DVDs or access online videos of selected events including Public Lectures and Topical Meetings. - Receive hard copies of each SFI Working Paper or access online immediately upon publication (approximately 55 per year). The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit a capability statement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all capability statements received by 29 April 2011 will be considered by the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. The solicitation number is N00189-11-Q-1742 and the applicable NAICS code is 611699. The government anticipates award of firm-fixed-priced contract to satisfy the requirement.
