- Oracle/Sun Hardware Maintenance of servers and peripherals Sources Sought Description: The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), National Information Technology Center (NITC) is issuing this Sources Sought for integrated of on-site Oracle/Sun OEM OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) certified technical hardware remedial maintenance, Oracle/Sun OEM Technical Support (access to OEM helpdesk, firmware updates), and hard drive retention. NITC is also interested in non-OEM (3rd Party) maintenance for hardware that has reached OEM End-of-service-Life (EOSL). The scope will be limited to Oracle/Sun manufacturer comprising mostly of servers and peripherals. The maintenance contractor shall have OEM qualified computer maintenance technicians with approved USDA security clearances prior to providing services. Multiple coverage types and response times, ranging from 7x24x366/4hr to 8x5/Next Business Day, will be needed depending on specific equipment. Vendor will be expected to keep overall inventory of all items under maintenance and maintenance service provided (calls per device, etc) across all manufactures and work manufactures to populate Oracle/Sun OEM hardware maintenance tracking websites for use by Government personnel along with regular reports. Reports include including pricing by item per month totaled by subcategories of equipment owner groups, equipment services monthly, contractor dispatch points of contact, and OEM contract numbers. The period of performance is anticipated to be for the remainder of the current fiscal year (through 9/30/11), with three, one year options. All maintenance would be subject to change with thirty (30) days notice for any additional equipment or removal of equipment from maintenance at the request of the Government identified COR. Generally coverage will be for a twelve (12) consecutive month period payable monthly in arrears. Services would commence on date of award. Initial places of performance include Kansas City, MO, Beltsville, MD, St. Louis, MO and potential additional locations include Silver Springs, MD, Boulder, CO, Fort Collins, CO, Salt Lake City, UT, Fort Worth, TX, and Washington DC. Response Should Include: •Contractor name, address, telephone number, and email address. •Business Size and Socioeconomic Category (i.e. Small/Disadvantaged/Large Business; Woman-Owned; HubZone; Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business; 8a Small Business; 8a STARS, etc). •Applicable North American Industry Classification System Codes and U.S. Industry Titles (correlated to contract numbers and business size) •Contract numbers of GSA Federal Supply Schedules, NASA SEWP, or any other Government-wide Agency Contract (GWAC) for described services/products. If possible provide an internet link to the contracts. •Standard Marketing Literature that describes your solutions and capabilities. •Description of Pricing Methods Used: This description includes how the vendor's solution is commonly sold in the commercial marketplace (e.g., initial price approaches, pricing methods, price policies for solution maintenance, hourly or engagement based services pricing) for hardware maintenance/technical support, and any professional services rates. Market research or list/contract price rates may be included if desired. •Brief Capability Statement: Any vendor responding to this source sought must provide a brief capability statement containing written information on their company's ability to meet the above requirements. The statement should include: Documentation of Authorized Oracle Reseller status for hardware maintenance along with a description of how this status would be maintained through the life of the contract. Documentation on the process to ensure all on-site technicians have a favorable USDA security clearance prior to arrival on-site. Short description of Quality Assurance Plan methodologies to ensure timely and effective delivery of service. List of at least three references of similar size and complexity including contact number, annual costs, point of contact name, address, telephone number, and email address.
