- Description
- Specification This is a Request for Information (RFI) in accordance with FAR 15.201(e). The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center has a requirement for the overhaul of the top-end section on the Motoren Und Turbinen Union (MTU) 8V396TE94 Marine Propulsion Diesel Engine for 87-foot patrol boats. The Government will allow competitive offers to be submitted for this service; however, all offers must be providing genuine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. Remanufactured or aftermarket parts are not acceptable. The Government DOES NOT possess the necessary drawings, technical specifications, etc., to supply with this specification. This information is proprietary to the OEM. For these reasons, only components produced by the OEM, whether new or reconditioned, will be accepted. Period of Performance: It is anticipated that a firm, fixed price, 5 year IDIQ contract will be awarded for this contract. Place of Performance: Anticipate performance of services to take place at the vessel's homeport. Attached is a copy of current specification for this requirement. Industry is encouraged at this time to provide comment and feedback in regards to this specification. Response to this notice is not an offer and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Furthermore, the Government does not intend to pay for this information.
