Description: This is a SOURCES SOUGHT notice. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Iron Mountain, Michigan will be soliciting a construction project that shall include but not be limited to provide for and furnish all labor, superintendence, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, licenses, certificates, insurance, temporary protection, and other items designated under the provisions of this contract necessary for the select demolition of the existing roofs and replacement of existing roofs, including membrane, flashing, pipe boots, and related roofing accessories and the installation of additional insulation on building #1 of the VA Medical Center Iron Mountain as outlined in the contract specifications and as shown on the contract drawings. Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for the project, Replace Roofs Bldg. #1 Project No. 585-10-106 as required by drawings and specifications at the Oscar G. Johnson VAMC, Iron Mountain, Michigan. The estimated construction cost is between $250,000 - $500,0000. The contract duration is 60 calendar days. The estimated award date of the contract is June 2011. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 238160, which has a size standard of $14,000,000 in average annual receipts over a three-year period. This is NOT a request for proposals. This announcement is for planning purposes only. In order to determine the extent of industry interest and experience in the requirement. Interested contractors shall present the following information: a brief overview of the firm's capabilities and experience on projects similar in scope and cost magnitude to this program; and any socio-economic classification(s) (e.g., SDVOSB, VOSB, 8(a), Hubzone, small business, small disadvantaged business, etc.) as they relate to NAICS code 238160. Please supply this information via email to Michael Chester, Contracting Officer, at Michael.Chester3@va.gov (Telephone responses will not be accepted). Qualified companies are encouraged to respond. The response to this notice shall be in summary format and shall not exceed two (2) pages. Do NOT send an SF 330. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result of a response to this sources sought or Government use of any information provided. The Government will not pay for information or comments provided and will not recognize any costs associated with submission of comments. All attachments must be provided in either Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Please send responses by no later than 1:00 PM local prevailing time at Milwaukee, WI on Aril 29, 2011. Respondents will not be contacted regarding their submission or information gathered as a result of this Sources Sought notice. The formal solicitation will be issued at a later date by a separate announcement.
