Description

The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a Firm-Fixed-Price Delivery Order, under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-11-G-0001 to The Boeing Company, 6200 J S McDonnell Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63134 to provide ECP 328, Advanced Memory Unit (AMU) Relocation, for the AV-8B Harrier Aircraft. There exists the possibility of contact between the door on the AMU and the canopy Mild Detonating Cord (MDC), if the AMU is left in the up (stowed) position with the door open, resulting in potential damage to the MDC. This change will be accomplished through a forced retrofit installation at the depot level. This acquisition is pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. Section 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." A determination by the Government not to compete this effort is solely within the discretion of the Government. GENERAL INFORMATION: Due to funding and schedule restraints, the Government will not consider reverse engineering. The Government does not have access to the original vendor's proprietary data.
