- Federal Business Opportunities Information Date: 2011 April 25 SOLICITATION NO. W9128F-11-B-0012 On or about 09 May 2011, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of the Construct Spare Transformer Building, Oahe Dam, South Dakota. The solicitation will close on or about 09 June 2011. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION A tentative site visit date has been scheduled for 17 May 2011 at 1:00pm (central time). Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should meet at the Administration Building at Oahe Dam. Reservations need to be made by email or phone call to Jim Oehlerking, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Oahe Dam, 605-224-5862 ext 3237 or M.J.Oehlerking@usace.army.mil. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See 'Obtaining Solicitation Documents' below. _______________________________________________________________________________ Project Description: (Approx. quantities) Project is located at Oahe Dam in Pierre, South Dakota. The project consists of a 22' x 22' metal building with a 34' eave height and a overhead coil door designed to fit a 28' high X 16' wide opening. The reinforced concrete foundations walls extend below grade to frost depth and are supported by continuous spread footings. It includes a pair of standard rails mounted upon parallel concrete foundation walls to allow the transformer to roll into the building. The estimated construction cost of this project is between$100,000 and $250,000. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 120 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.
