Description
The U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) seeks information about data and text mining software applications that assess the probability of financial statement fraud occurring at a given public company. Such application should utilize textual analysis to identify such things as word patterns and frequency of usage that may be correlated with financial fraud. The software application should be able to analyze a wide range of publicly available information such as information contained within filings made with the SEC, earnings call transcripts and press releases. To the extent possible, provide a sample of the output from any such software application. Such output can include a list of companies that have been evaluated by the software application and the related data which indicates the probability of financial statement fraud occurring at each of those companies. This announcement is a Request for Information (RFI), not a solicitation. The SEC is issuing this RFI to gather information on the capabilities of industry and price estimates for software that performs the functionality described above. If you are interested in providing information describing your company's software, please send to Jeremy Garrett at GarrettJ@sec.gov. You may include price range estimates. The SEC will consider all responses to this RFI as information only, not offers. All information must be sent via email to GarrettJ@sec.gov by no later than the response deadline.
