Description
This notice invites contractors to the Industry Day for Advanced Processing Build (APB) FY13 (APB-13) under Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) N0002410IWS5A01, issued on 8 June 2010. BAA N0002410IWS5A01 advised contractors that Program Executive Office, Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) 5A, Advanced Development Office for Undersea Systems, was soliciting proposals for research interests in advanced undersea technologies in the areas of processing, organic and distributed sensors. It also indicated that industry days may be conducted in order to elaborate on these areas of research interest. Accordingly, contractors are invited to attend an Industry Day to communicate capability development objectives for its research interests in advanced undersea technologies in the area of submarine signal processing for APB-13 as indicated under paragrapgh 1.2 A) of the BAA, as well as a newly added area of interest, "Leverage Human Systems Interface and commercial expertise to create more intuitive displays". This notice reschedules the Industry Day event postponed from 9-10 February 2011 to 24-25 May 2011. This Industry Day will focus on improved, more intuitive interfaces and capabilities, and build on APB-11 capabilities in submarine signal processing, localization, image enhancement and automation for APB-13. The APB Industry Day will be held on 24 and 25 May 2011 at Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems & Sensors in Manassas, VA from 9:00 a.m. to approximately 3:00 p.m. The Industry Day will include briefs classified up to the SECRET level, which requires each participant to submit a security clearance prior to the meeting. Due to limitations on space, only three (3) persons per company location will be allowed to participate. Parties interested in attending should request a registration package (which will include directions for submission of the security clearances) by e-mailing meghan.pituch@cgifederal.com with the subject ADVANCED UNDERSEA TECHNOLOGIES INDUSTRY DAY REGISTRATION REQUEST. Registration will be open through 18 May 2011. The tentative agenda for the Industry Day on 24 May 2011 includes: Advanced Processing Build (APB) Process Overview, Discussion of Proposed Content, Relevant APB-13 Mission/Tactical Requirements, System Gaps/Seams Overview and Desired APB-13 Focus Areas. The following day, 25 May 2011, at the same location, from 9:00 a.m. to approximately 3:00 p.m., IWS 5 will present detailed findings from the August 2010 Gaps and Seams analysis of the APB-09 system against the APB-13 Scenario. All Industry Day attendees are invited to attend. Please note that since this event includes classified briefings, no notes may be taken. Copies of the briefs may be provided to attendees under a separate mailing. NOTE: Due to the delay of the APB-13 Industry Day, the closing date for this BAA N0002410IWS5A01 has been extended to 30 June 2011.
