Description
Justification for Brand Name Products Project:Wireless Network Connection between Old Faithful Ranger Station and ESB. Using Motorola PTP 600 Identifications: Agency: National Park Service Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming Description of the action: Yellowstone National Park has received a Frequency Allocation from the NTIA using the specified Motorola Wireless network Equipment and Antennas. Yellowstone NP Wireless Committee and Compliance division have given authorization to use the specified Motorola equipment. The Motorola Equipment uses a technology not currently available from other manufactures for wireless connection over NON-Line of site transmit pathways Description of supplies and services: This purchase is for a Motorola PTP 600 complete link using the 4.5 Ghz Government Frequencies 1 Each Motorola PTP 45600 Full Integrated - Link Complete Model # WB3040BB2 Each Motorola LPU (Lightning Protection Unit) Surge protection Model # WB29071 Each PTP600 Series FIPS 140-2 Including 256bit AES - Link Model# WB3413 Authority:FAR Part 11.105: The Brand Name products are essential to the Government's requirements, and market research indicates other companies' similar products do not meet and cannot be modified to meet the agency's needs. The description of the product's unique qualifications or the unique nature of the acquisition: Yellowstone National Park has received a Frequency Allocation from the NTIA using the specified Motorola Wireless network Equipment and Antennas. Yellowstone NP Wireless Committee and Compliance division have given authorization to use the specified Motorola equipment especially with the equipment's small physical foot due to Historical District location and visual intrusion impact. The Motorola Equipment uses a technology not currently available from other manufactures for wireless connection over NON-Line of site pathways and also maintain FIPS 141 compliance across the connection. Also this will be a test for the whole of the NPS to standardize on this equipment for supplying network connectivity to Non-line of site location where traditional wireless equipment will not work due terrain and distance.
