- This is a Sources Sought Notice. This notice is a mechanism for obtaining feedback from industry in regard to the general requirement stated below. THIS IS NOT A SYNOPSIS FOR A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP). Rather, it is a market research tool to determine potential sources for future surgical requirements. The Government is not obligated to, nor will the Government pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this Sources Sought Notice. The US Army Medical Command, Southern Region Contracting Office - East is seeking interest from potential sources for the following surgical support item: Abiomed, Inc., BVS 5000 Ventricular Support System Blood Pump, disposable external pneumatically driven two chambered device to support one side of the heart. Blood inflow from the left atrium is returned to the thoracic aorta and inflow from the right atrium returns to the pulmonary artery. The connection of the blood pump to the patient must use Tran-thoracic cannulation techniques. Blood pump must contain two cannulae (one each left and right atrial connections) and one aortic or PA connection. The atrial and arterial cannulae must come with tie wraps, a tunneling bullet and a cannula restraint for the cannula connector junction. The arterial cannula must be coated with a 10mm - 12mm precoated graft bonded to one end. Blood Pump must be compatible with a pre-existing Abiomed BVS 5000 Ventricular Support System. This is not a request for proposal. However, companies that can provide an equal product MUST SUBMIT THEIR TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES TO INCLUDE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF THEIR PRODUCT, PAST PERFORMANCE INFORMATION, PRICE, DELIVERY TIME AND TECHNICAL/MEDICAL SUPPORT. This information will be reviewed by the Government technical representatives for consideration for future requirements. Point of Contact: Linda M.
