DOC TYPE:Presolicitation Notice SUBJECT:Notice of Intent to Award Purchase Order to GE Datex-Ohmeda in Madison, WI RESPONSE DATE: May 06, 2011 DESCRIPTION: Healthcare Acquisition Activity-North intends to negotiate and award a purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures on a sole source basis under the authority of 6.302-1 or 41 USC 253 (c) (1), with GE Datex-Ohmeda in Madison, WI for the proprietary operating system software needed to perform services on the anesthesia units at the Ireland Army Community Hospital, Fort Knox, KY. The GE Datex-Ohmeda field service representatives are the only service trained factory trained representatives in the local area who are authorized to represent GE Datex-Ohmeda to make necessary repairs, perform routine preventive maintenance and trouble shoot the anesthesia units as they are propietary in nature. The resulting Purchase Order will be for a base period of one (1) year with four (3) one year option periods. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334510, and the size standard is 500. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, responses received by May 06, 2011 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
