- *** PRE-SOLICITATION VA-248-11-RP-0490 *** *THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE BIDS OR PROPOSALS AT THIS TIME* ****** THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE ONLY ****** The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Activity 8, Orlando, Florida VA Medical Center (OVAMC) intends to solicit and negotiate a Construction firm-fixed-price contract to Remodel Operating room and Urology areas located at the Orlando VA Medical Center, 5201 Raymond Street, Orlando Fl 32803. A Request for Proposals (RFP) for this project is estimated to be released on or about May 20, 2011. Details of all dates and events, including an initial site visit, will be available in the upcoming solicitation. Interested parties are encouraged to periodically re-visit the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website: www.fbo.gov for further information concerning this intended acquisition. PROJECT 675-11-600 DESCRIPTION: This project will remodel Operating Room (OR) and Urology areas to support other construction projects in the Hospital's 2nd floor that will improve flow of patients through the Operations, Urology, and GI departments. Selected contractor's responsibilities shall include the following: 1) Expanding existing lounge and nurse station areas for more space and new computer work stations. 2) Replacing existing patient wall panels in the OR suite room 212 for new updated head units with monitor brackets. 3) Renovating and re-designing areas will be supported by electrical, IT and construction effort as necessary. 4) Replacing VCT flooring, acoustic ceiling, wall sections, and door panels as necessary. 5) Redesigning office stations and offices in the OR area for OR personnel use. Orlando VAMC Interior designer will be responsible for color and floor selections with input from the involved services. Work in the OR areas will be performed after normal hours of operations during WHEN (Weekends, Holidays, Evenings, & Nights) hours and coordinated with the Project ™s COTR. Areas must be cleaned every day after shift ™s end by contractor to comply with all regulations of operation for those spaces. Work being performed in other areas may be performed during normal business hours of 7:00 AM “ 5:00 PM, Monday thru Friday, excluding Federal holidays. All work must be coordinated with the project ™s COTR. The Estimated Cost Range for this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The applicable North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code for this procurement is 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. This acquisition will be awarded under the Veterans First Contracting Program as a total 100% set-aside to eligible Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) firms. NOTICE THIS IS A SERVICE-DISABLED, VETERAN-OWNED, SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. PROSPECTIVE CONTRACTORS ARE CAUTIONED THAT ANY BID OR PROPOSAL SUBMITTED IN RESPONSE TO THIS SOLICITATION MUST MEET THE CRITERIA IDENTIFIED BY 38 CFR, PART 74.
