Description
Health Care Acquisition Activity-North intends to issue a Blanket Purchase Agreement with Alere North America, Inc. Orlando, FL, for Biosite Triage reagent kits, controls, and calibrators required to operate current laboratory instrumentation at Ireland Army Community Hospital (IACH), under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The IACH laboratory is currently operating a Biosite Triage Pro Meter analyzer for assaying patient samples. Alere North America, Inc. is the only authorized distributor of the Biosite Triage brand supplies; no other source can provide the reagents necessary as the equipment is proprietary in nature and will only operate with Triage brand reagents. This requirement will be procured in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 13, using simplified acquisition procedures. NAICS code is 325413, size standard of 500 employees. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the Agency. Offerors certain they can meet the requirement may submit in writing an affirmative response and statement of technical capabilities. All written responses must include a written narrative statement of capability, including detailed technical information demonstrating their ability to meet the above requirement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to the notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Affirmative written response must be received no later than 9 May 2011.
