- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD 11TC0452 The 802d Contracting Squadron intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order to Technical Communities Inc for the purchase a Selecta II Laser for Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) Glaucoma Therapy. This purchase will be made under simplified acquisition procedures and Other than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 6.302-1(a) (2) (ii) (A). The government's minimum requirements are: Laser Platform must be frequency doubled Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers, which deliver 0.1 to 2.0 milli-joules of energy per pulse with duration of 3 nanoseconds; must be stand alone portable system; adaptable to a standard Haag-Streit (convergent optics) slit lamp; must be expressly cleared by the Federal Drug Administration for the Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty. DESCRIPTION REQUIREMENT: The requirement includes the following: 1. Selecta II Laser for SLT Glaucoma Therapy, P/N: 0640-940-01 QTY: 1 EA 2. Delivery to Lackland AFB, TX 78236. This notice is neither a request for competitive proposals nor a solicitation of offers. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. However, all proposals received within 3 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-50 and DFARS Change Notice 20110427, North American Industry Classification System Code (NAIC) 334510 and Size Standard of 500 employees apply to this procurement. Lumenis Inc has the exclusive license for US Patent 5,549,596, "Selective Laser Targeting of Pigmented Ocular Cells".
