Description
The Center for Health Care Contracting (CHCC), 2199 Storage Street, Suite 68, Fort Sam Houston, TX 78234-5076 will hold an Industry Day on 20 May 2011 to exchange information with Industry and see if there are commercial sources available to compete for this requirement. The contemplated contract is to provide Army Physical Disability Evaluation System processing (PDES). This includes the Medical Evaluation Board (MEB), Soldier referral to appropriate entities and the Physical Evaluation Board (PEB). The Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES) utilizes the resources of the Army Medical Department working in conjunction with the Veterans Administration to provide a disability medical evaluation for Soldiers with permanent disabilities. The contractor shall be responsible for providing the medical staffing including physicians (M.D. and D.O.), physicians assistants and certified nurse practitioners to perform these non-personal services. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for health care services are 621111 (Physicians) and 621399 (Nurses). The intent of the Industry Day is to provide a venue for the Government and Industry to have discussions and to gauge the interest level of all types and sizes of businesses for the requirements. Although the Government anticipates award of any future requirements to small businesses, large businesses are encouraged to attend Industry Day for exchanges of information and networking purposes. This venue will also assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition strategy, the contract type, contract terms and conditions, delivery schedule, and ascertain if there are firms capable of performing the requirements. The Government's Industry Day on 20 May 2011 will be held at the following location: San Antonio Joint Management Office, 2250 Engineer St, Ste 12 (Conference Rm A), Bldg 4196, Fort Sam Houston, TX. The scheduled time for the event is 9:00AM - 12:30 PM (Central Standard Time/CS) with registration being held from 8:30 PM - 9:00 AM. During the Conference, the Government's question and answer period will provide further clarification on the requirements. Any firms interested in attending are requested to provide the following information, via email, on or before 17 May 2011 to the Contracting Officer. You are to provide, at a minimum: (1) company name, business size (to include any SBA certifications, such as 8(a), HUB Zone, etc.) based on the appropriate NAICS code, corporate affiliations (to include joint venture partners, teaming partners, and prime or subcontractors), mailing address, telephone number, point of contact and return e-mail address within the body of the response, and (2) Provide a list of customers (Government and non-Government) within the past three (3) years highlighting similar work performed. This information should be forwarded to Ms. Viola Muniz, Contract Specialist, at viola.muniz@amedd.army.mil or Ms. Dora Hernandez, Contracting Officer, at dora.hernandez@amedd.army.mil. NOTE: Attachment 1 contains a map and directions to the Conference once you have accessed Fort Sam Houston. There is no assurance from the Government that a solicitation will result from this notice. Also, this announcement does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ), or Request for Proposals (RFP), or an Invitation for Bid (IFB), nor does this issuance restrict the Government's acquisition approach.
