- Description
- Western Area Power Administration has a requirement for a contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation and other resources to complete this project. The principal components of the work involve the construction of a new high voltage 230/69-kV electrical substation near Dawson, Minnesota. Work includes sitework, concrete foundations, fencing, grounding and conduit systems, providing galvanized steel structures, furnishing and installing major outdoor electrical equipment, installing Government-furnished transformers, circuit breakers, and instrument transformers, installing Government-furnished transmission line steel pole structures for the approach spans, provide a prefabricated service building, and other additional items as described on the drawings and specifications. The work is located in Lac Qui Parle County, Minnesota. This solicitation is 100% Full and Open Competition - Sealed Bids and the NAICS code is 237130. The estimated construction magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. All work is to be completed within 360 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. All responsible business concerns may submit a bid which shall be considered by this Agency. A pre-bid site visit will not be held. Any non-U.S. (Foreign National) visiting or working at any Western Area Power Administration facility must receive prior written approval from the appropriate Western Security Manager. The solicitation, specifications and drawings, and any subsequent amendments will only be available in electronic format, downloadable from the internet. Interested parties can download the solicitation at https://www.fbo.gov on or about May 23, 2011 and the projected bid opening date is June 23, 2011. It is the responsibility of the bidders to monitor the website for notices and amendments. Note: All bids for this IFB shall be mailed to Western Area Power Administration, 200 4th Street SW, Huron, SD 57350-2474.
