FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ISSUED 05/05/11, CLOSES ON 05/16/11 THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE AND SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. IT IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY SERVICES, NOR DOES MIDDLE EAST DISTRICT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOLICITED. Purpose of Notice: The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified business concerns, both U.S. and Foreign, capable of Commercial and Institutional Building Construction in Bahrain. As the work will be performed outside of the Continental U.S., no set asides or socioeconomic preference of any sort will be granted. This effort is classified through the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) under 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. General: It is anticipated that a solicitation announcement will be published in the Federal Business Opportunities on or about May 18, 2011. The contract will consist of multiple Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINS), which are Firm Fixed Price with additional Options. The estimated cost of this Construction project is between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000, with an estimated duration of approximately 720 calendar days for the Period of Performance from date of contract award or Notice to Proceed. Project Description: P-954 Waterfront Development, Phase III, FY11 MILCON Program, Manama Naval Base, Bahrain: The project includes: Base Items: (1) Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team Operations Building; (2) Small Arms Firing Range; (3) Guard Towers; (4) Perimeter Wall; (5) Electronic Security Systems; (6) Site Work, Site Utilities, Site Improvements, Paving, Fencing, and Demolition Work; Option 1 Items: (7) Entry Control Point - Gate House; (8) Entry Control Point - Pass/Identification Building; Electronic Security Systems (9) Entry Control Point - Truck Inspection Building; (10) Security Kiosk; Option 2 Items: (11) Flyover Bridge and (12) Electronic Security Systems.
