Description

Overton Brooks VA Medical Center (OBVAMC), Shreveport LA, requires a contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision and all other necessary items necessary to construct a 2nd floor addition to the south wing of the main hospital (approximately 10,000 SF) for Outpatient Mental Health Services at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, Shreveport, Louisiana. Work also includes constructing (extending) the south wing elevator/stair tower from the roof of the 2nd floor to a 10th floor elevator equipment room, and installing two 10-stop traction elevators to serve the basement through the 9th floors. Work includes renovating existing hospital space immediately adjacent to the new elevator/stair tower extension from the 2nd floor to the 9th floor. Work includes, but is not limited to, all mechanical, electrical, site work, etc. required for the 2nd floor Mental Health Expansion and elevator tower construct/installation. All work shall be in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications and current applicable code requirements. Cost magnitude of the project is between $2,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The solicitation is to be issued as a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 236220. This size standard is $33.5 Million per year. This information is only used for classification purposes in the representation and certification portion of the Request for Proposal (RFP). Anticipated issued date is May 20, 2011 and anticipated date for receipt of offers is June 20, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. Local Time. A pre-bid site visit is tentatively scheduled for June 7, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Local Time. All prospective SDVOSB offerors are responsible to visit the FedBizOpps website frequently to obtain any amendment(s) or other information pertaining to this solicitation. Contractors must be registered in the VetBiz and Central Contractor Registration (CCR) in order to be considered for an award. A prospective awardee shall not only be registered in but also certified in the VetBiz database prior to award, during performance, and through final payment of any contract resulting from solicitation VA256-11-RP-0499.
