- The proposed contract action is for commercial supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority for FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses received within five days after date of publication of this notice of intent. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Amazon Web Services is considered to be the only vendor who can provide cloud computing services for the Navy. Amazon continues to host both server capacity and data storage facilities in its own facilities, while all other services available offer only one or the other segment of the required total package. Amazon Web Services is the only vendor who can meet the Navy ™s need. The applicable North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 519130.
