- This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation; offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.This notice is being issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for:NASA/GSFC has a requirement for the acquisition of a scale model in the stackedconfiguration of the MMS Spacecraft as follows:1. Qty 30 - Stacked Satellite Models2. Qty 2 - Half Shroud ModelsAlso Note: Questions & Answers for more clarification Stacked Satellite Model1. Stacked configuration anticipates four MMS Spacecrafts as shown on the picturebelow. Correct? CORRECT2. Are MMS vehicles' replicas in a stack suppose to be attached to each otherpermanently? YES3. As per our understanding no portion of XERF fairing compartment and/or ATLAS Vlaunching vehicle is required to be represented on this model. Correct? 30 modelswithout fairing4. Do you require any type of stand, display or mount for each stack of MMS vehicles'replicas. Obviously some type of base (wood, etc.)5. Do you require a storage/carrying/transit case to accompany the models? For samples ofour transit cases please, visit http://www.lifeinscale.com/mm_products.asp#transit NO6. Is there only one satellite design for the 30 copies or are there 30 differentsatellites to be built, each unique in design and features? One satellite, 30 copies Half Shroud Model1. 'models with a one-half fairing configuration' Does it anticipate a stack identical tothe one above mounted inside a replica of the XEPF fairing with longitudinalcross-section allowing to see the stacked replicas of MMS Spacecraft? Please, confirm.CORRECT2. A scale of this model should be 1/25 as well. Correct? 1/25 to 1/27 approximately3. Do you require any type of stand, display or mount for each model? Please, specify therequirements. SAME AS ABOVE4. Do you require a storage/carrying/transit case for the models? Also, do you requireclear protective covers (Plexiglas or acrylic)? NO5. Are the stacked satellites to fit into an existing model of an ATLAS V or are they tofit into the Half Shroud Models? Half Shroud for two models only.6. Are the Half Shroud Models cut-always of the upper part of an ATLAS V? Yes7. Once the contract is awarded will there be access to more accurate plans availableother than the PowerPoint file? These are the only files available at this time...8. Do the two half shrouds need to connect together? Will people be placing the satellitemodels inside the and closing the shroud? We have only requested one half of the fairingwith the spacecraft inside (cross section).It will not be a complete fairing.9. Do you require interior detail of the shrouds or are they to have a smooth interior?The fairing should include details....This can be found in the Atlas V users guide thatwas provided.10. The half shrouds should end where at Centaur Forward Adapter or do you want a lengthof the Common Centaur as well? At the adapter...no centaur.11. Are the satellites to be painting with all the colors shown in the PowerPointPresentation or is there a more accurate photo of what the satellites typically looklike. The colors on the drawings are obviously not true colors. Once awarded, colorschemes will be discussed.The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 2005-38.This procurement is a total small business set-aside. The NAICS Code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 339999respectively. The offeror shall state in their offer their size status for thisprocurement.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.Delivery to NASA's GSFC, Greenbelt, MD20771 is required within 30 days ARO.
