Description
Questions and answers received. Tester Requirements This solicitation is amended to include the specifications document inadvertently omitted in the original posting, to provide additional information and to extend the closing date. The 406 MHz ELT Tester will be used on HC-130H, HC-130J, HC-144A, MH-60T, and all future CG aircraft equipped with 406 MHz ELTs. The Coast Guard has begun installing 406 MHz ELTs on its aircraft. The 406 MHz ELT is required to be checked annually. The tester will be used to comply with this requirement by detecting and decoding all manufacturers' current and future COSPAS-SARSAT beacons (ELTs) across the entire 406.000 - 406.100 MHz frequency range and displaying the ELT 15 Hexadecimal Identification Digits (15 Hex ID). The tester should also detect and decode all manufacturers' current and future COSPAS-SARSAT (PLBs) and (EPIRBs) across the entire 406.000 - 406.100 MHz frequency range and displaying the (PLB/EPIRB) 15 Hex ID. Also, detecting and displaying other information from the transmitted signal. For example, latitude /longitude position and 121.5/243 MHz frequencies. The supplier must have or establish a permanent presence in the United States staffed with English speaking technical support personnel. All system documentation must be available in readily understandable English language format. Alternate commercial items will be considered as long as it meets/exceeds the specifications identified in this solicitation. The closing date for this solicitation is changed to 16 May 2011 @ 4:00pm.
