- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT to conduct market research for developing a procurement strategy for a possible upcoming opportunity entitled, "Removal and Replacement of Pintle Bearing Assemblies on a set of Lock Gates at the Lake Washington Ship Canal". The purpose of this notice is to measure the interest of Small Businesses (SB), 8(a), Small Disadvantage Business (SDB), Woman Owned Business, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), or HUBZone prime contractor business sources and their size classifications relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 237990 "Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction" (Size Standard of $33.5 Million) for the subject opportunity. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Seattle District requires the removal and replacement of pintle bearing assemblies on a set of lock gates. The work will include: the removal of two gate leaves (each approximately 220 tons), transportation of gate leaves to contractors facility for cleaning, inspection, minor repair and painting, machining of stainless steel parts, welding and boring of structural steel, pressing or shrink fitting brass bushings into gates, accurate installation of gates onto pintles, and adjustment of gates for seal and operation. Installation and test operation of gates will require support from underwater divers with video recording capability (some work may be performed by ROV). Optional work includes welding and painting in lock chamber during dewatering and machining cast iron gate components. Work will need to be completed under a short schedule dictated by the Lock Operation Requirements. Heavy marine construction experience is required. Crane capable of supporting gate leave while disconnecting/connecting gate components is also required. The project is located at the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks in Seattle, Washington. The estimated cost range for this project is $100,000 to $500,000. REQUIREMENTS: Provide the following in response to this sources sought synopsis: 1. Three (3) examples of past experience projects of heavy marine construction using a crane of 220 ton plus performed. Examples should include the following information: a. A description of the work; b. Dollar amount of the work; c. Location of the work d. Contact information for the past experience project. 2.
