- Description
- USAID/Angola's health program components fit under the Investing in People element of the Country Operating Plan. This program works with the Angolan Ministry of Health (MOH) to improve the health status of Angolans though improvements to the quality of service delivery and health systems strengthening activities. USAID/Angola requires the services of a HIV/AIDS Technical Advisor, hired through a Personal Services Contract (PSC) to provide specialized technical assistance in areas relating to primary prevention and behavioral change, health systems strengthening, data analysis and use, strategic planning, and program implementation. In addition, the Advisor will be responsible for managing several USAID/Angola PEPFAR contracts and agreements. The Advisor will provide technical assistance to achieve U.S. Government (USG) objectives in combating the HIV epidemic in Angola. In collaboration with the GRA, CDC, DOD, U.S. Embassy, non-governmental partners, private sector organizations, and regional institutions, the Advisor will provide support in the design, implementation, and evaluation of HIV/AIDS programs. The Advisor will have responsibilities across a range of areas including to: • Support the development, improvement and dissemination of sound HIV/AIDS policies and programs in response to evolving epidemiological data; • Facilitate the collection and dissemination of information about HIV/AIDS programming achievements and lessons learned; and • Collaborate with the OGAC, GRA, PEPFAR agencies, implementing partners, NGOs and private sector companies in Angola.
