Notice of Intent to Sole Source Requirement The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Boston Healthcare System, Veterans Integrated Systems Network (VISN) 1 Contracting Activity intends to negotiate a sole source contract under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source for manufacturing/supplier/distributor of the following items: Medrad Product IDDescrition SDS-CTP-SPKStellant Dual Syringe Kit / Spikes SVTSSwabbable Valve Transfer Set (SVTS) SSQK 65/115VSSpectris Solaris ® Syringe Kit 106553-001SPIROFLEX CUS CATHETER 106608-001SPIROFLEX VG CUS CATHETER 106608-001 105039-001AVX CUS CATHETER 105039-001 106552-001DVX CUS CATHETER 105835-001Spiroflex Catheter 104307-001Xf120 CATHETER DCT 148TUBING, 48" CONNECTOR #82011482 150-FT-Q150 FASTURN SYR W/QFT 200-FT-QSYRINGE,FASTURN,200ML,W/QFT Medrad, Inc. is the sole owner of the intellectual property associated with the above Medrad disposables product line. The associated NAICS code for these surgical supplies is 339113 with a size standard of 500 employees. The vendor: Medrad, Inc. 100 Global View Drive, Warrendale, PA 15086-7601. A firm fixed price contract with four option years is anticipated and shall be awarded. It is the Government's belief that only the proposed candidate possesses the required capabilities to successfully meet this requirement. It is the Government's intention to solicit and negotiate with only this source. Per FAR 5.207 (15) (ii) All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Any other surgical manufacturer that provides sufficient documentation that they manufacturer similar surgical items must submit their technical capabilities, to include, technical specifications of a similar product line to the items listed above; as well as past performance information specific to this request, price and delivery time upon ordering. This information will be reviewed by the Government's technical representatives for consideration. Email statements are required. Statements are due no later than May 16, 2011 by 13:00 EST.
