Description
This announcement serves as a Sources Sought synopsis issued for the purpose of market research in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. This Sources Sought is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation nor is this notice a request for quotations. DO NOT submit a quote or proposal in response to this synopsis. For the purpose of this acquisition, the North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 611420 and the size standard is $7.0 M. The proposed contract is anticipated to be a firm fixed price contract. It is this agency's intention to do an unrestricted acquisition unless enough qualified small businesses (SB) are located with serious intentions to propose on our requirement allowing for a set-aside. Delivery is FOB Destination to USAF Academy, CO 80840. The purpose of this notice is to identify companies, in particular small business socio-economic categories capable and qualified to provide the Weapons Simulator. The requirement is for a brand name or equal product. The characteristics of this product are: Virtual 1-Screen Self-Contained Basic Military System, ruggedized container-mounted with integral projection. Virtual Small Arms Trainer US Air Force Military Software Package. 3-Screen Networking Kit - shall allow networking of three independent simulation platforms. Only applicable to Military Systems. FATS SRS Carbine Rifle-Tethered, with Rails. Beretta M9/92F-Tethered-Olive Drab Pouch. Two Year Warranty Contract for one Virtual Military Training System - the warranty will be in the form of an option year. Two Year Warranty Contract for one M9/92F Weapon Simulator - the warranty will be in the form of an option year. Two Year Warranty Contract for one SRS Carbine Weapon Simulator - the warranty will be in the form of an option year. Interested businesses shall provide the following information: 1. Company name, mailing address, cage code, DUNS numbers, point of contact, telephone number and e-mail address. 2. Business size status, e.g., 8(a), HUBZone, Woman/Women Owned or Service Disabled Veteran-Owned, small business, large business, etc. 3. Appropriate written information and/or data supporting their capability to perform the required effort. 4. Contractors who are interested in this acquisition needs to provide the model number and enough information demonstrating their model is equal to the brand name model. This market research is trying to find other weapons simulators that meet the salient characteristics above. 4. Answers to the following questions: (Include questions below as applicable, otherwise delete. Add any questions specific to your acquisition not included below.). a. How long you have been in business? b. Are you a manufacturer? c. Where is the Weapon Simulator manufactured? Is the manufacturer a large business? d. Is the Weapon Simulator a commercial-off-the-shelf product? e. Does the Weapon Simulator meet the Buy American Act requirements at DFARS 252.225-7001? f. Have you ever performed government contracts? g. What are your payment terms? h. If you require different terms and conditions than those normally used by the Government, what are your commercial terms and conditions? Please provide a copy of your terms and conditions for this type of work. If your firm is capable and qualified to provide the Weapons Simulator, respond in writing to the primary point of contact indicated within this announcement.
