Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for the acquisition of Stabilized Decomposed Granite, a commercial item, prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and incorporates provisions and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-50 of May 16, 2011. Quotations are being requested via this notice only. A written solicitation will not be issued. The Request for Quotations (RFQ) number is P11PS00993. The acquisition is reserved exclusively for small business concerns. The North American Standard Industrial Classifications System Code is 212319 and the size standard is 500 employees or less. This acquisition is to furnish 89 tons of Stabilized Decomposed Granite delivered to Lassen Volcanic National Park- Devastated Area, California, at the Government's discretion. All delivery time, dates, and quantities will be coordinated with Graham Dobson at (530) 595-4444, as the Park Road Crew will schedule daily work activities around deliveries. The period of performance will be approximately 06/01/2011 to 08/05/2011 and will be finalized with Graham Dobson after award. The best entrance route into the park is Hwy 44 at Manzanita Lake. The granite is to be delivered to the parking lot area and will be spread out by the Park Road Crew (government personnel). The Stabilized Decomposed Granite may be delivered either bagged or loose in a pile. The size should be inch minus (maximum size is inch) and suitable for use on a trail. The stabilizer shall be a natural, non-toxic, non-staining, odorless, environmentally safe powder. The Decomposed Granite shall be stabilized at the quarry prior to delivery. The color shall be a Rustic Granite or approved like color. The stabilized Decomposed Granite will be utilized for the rehabilitation of a 1,100 ft. footpath, with 85% compaction to be attained with a 1,000 lb. roller (this work to be accomplished by government personnel). BASED UPON CLAUSE 52.211-16 VARIATION IN QUANTITY, THE PERMISSIBLE VARIATION SHALL BE LIMITED TO: 2 PERCENT INCREASE OR 2 PERCENT DECREASE. This increase or decrease shall apply to the total contract quantity. NOTE: THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY OVERAGES. INTERESTED PARTIES SHALL SUBMIT A QUOTATION BASED ON A UNIT PRICE PER TONNAGE. The Government reserves the right to adjust the total tonnage ordered based on availability of funding at the time of award. A breakdown of quantity discounts shall be provided with the quotation, if applicable.
