Description
Solicitation. Questions are due by Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 12:00 pm EST. Proposals are due by June 13, 2011 at 12:00 pm EST. The Secretary of the Air Force Office of Public Affairs (SAF/PA) is responsible for planning, organizing, conducting, and evaluating public affairs (PA) operations to communicate timely, truthful, and accurate information about Air Force (AF) activities to internal and external military and civilian domestic and international audiences. This responsibility requires SAF/PA to ensure Air Force leadership is familiar with the role of strategic communication and the most current theory and practices regarding its employment. SAF/PA requires the services of a contractor to plan and conduct a series of five-day (Monday-Friday) training workshops for 15 participants each focusing on the development (research and planning), execution, and evaluation of internal and external communication activities for targeted audiences. The participants in these workshops will include mid-level Air Force management from fields outside of communication. Each of the sessions will highlight theoretical and practical issues of public communication, with specific attention to the challenges faced in the modern information age. Instructional methods such as case studies, team exercises, practical applications, seminar discussions, lectures and will be used to give an overview of the field of strategic communication. Two of these workshops will be held each year for two years (2011-2012). Optimal months for workshops are August and November. These dates are negotiable, subject to SAF/PA approval.
