- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Point Mugu, California, intends to negotiate and award a predominantly Firm Fixed Price contract using other than full and open competition procedures. Negotiations will be conducted with Earth Air and Space Manufacturing Company (EAS) 804 Via Alondra, Camarillo, CA 93012-8045 in order to procure ALQ-167 JEACO Pods Hardware and Incidental Engineering for Intrepid Tiger II (IT II) Pods for the USMC F/A-18 and AV-8B squadron. Approximately ten IT II Pod Assemblies, Part Number 14110100; five IT II Modified ALQ-167 Trays, Part Number 14110001; and two Marman Clamps, Part Number 14110105; and 300 hours of engineering services are anticipated over the period of performance. The period of performance for the proposed acquisition will commence upon award and will continue for a period of four months. In accordance with FAR clause 6.302-1(b)(1)(i), EAS is currently the only company with the knowledge of the Modified Trays and structural reinforcements. EAS developed the Modified Trays and structural reinforcements that will be deployed later this year. At this time the Government does not possess any drawings or specifications to allow for competition. The Government is in the process of developing the drawings and specifications to allow for future competition; however they will not be available until August 2011. Therefore, no other source has the capability to provide the required hardware and engineering support as described in the Statement of Work associated with this proposed procurement. The government anticipates a June 2011 award. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any interested firm, other than EAS, should contact Jana Mirrilees via email by 31 May 2011.
