- Performance Work Statement This is a Sources Sought. This is NOT a request for proposal, quotation or bid. It is only a planning document. The US Army Corps of Engineers desires to identify certified Small Businesses capable of providing the following services: Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Refresher Training. Companies should have experience interpreting and applying USACE regulations (EM 385-1-1) and guidelines in conjunction with applicable Federal, State, & Local regulations; familiarity with USACE missions and demonstrated ability to adapt training requirements to USACE missions, regulations, & guidelines. Companies should demonstrate history of successful training of support personnel, garrison, and deployed troops working in hazardous environments, and providing this safety, health and environmental training to a large diversity of professional disciplines in an efficient, cost effective manner, modifying their instruction plans to meet the specific requirements of their customers with minimal lead time. This training shall cover ordnance, explosive, and radioactive material safety issues. Contract will require minimum five annual HAZWOPER refresher classes conducted within the Baltimore District Area of Responsibility by a certified industrial hygienist or certified safety professional with a focus on USACE Baltimore specific missions. Company must possess required expertise, knowledge, equipment, and tools necessary to meet or exceed the government objectives as per the above objectives. Baltimore District is seeking qualified contractors who have experience with the above referenced items. Interested firms shall submit electronically a narrative demonstrating their experience in these areas and any small business class certifications to Thomas.Delaney@usace.army.mil no later than 5:00PM EST 24 May 2011. The narrative shall not exceed 5 pages (11 font minimum). Tables, charts, graphs, etc., will count towards the 5 page count total (smaller font is allowed for these items, but the text must be legible). All data received in response to this Sources Sought Notice marked or designated as corporate or proprietary information will be fully protected from release outside the government. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. No telephone calls will be accepted requesting a bid package or solicitation. There is no bid package or solicitation. In order to protect the procurement integrity of any future procurement, if any, that may arise from this announcement, information regarding the technical point of contact will not be given and no appointments for presentations will be made.
