- MAFPS Questions and Answers MAFPS Requirements (.pdf) MAFPS Requirements (.doc) MAFPS Briefing Slides FedBizOpps Release Mobility Air Force's Automated Flight Planning Service (MAFPS) Industry Day Headquarters, Air Mobility Command (AMC) Resources and Requirements Division (A3R) will host an Automated Flight Planning Industry Day, 13 May 2011, in O'Fallon, Illinois. AMC is seeking industry information on existing Flight Planning systems that will: • Perform flight planning calculations for all AMC aircraft and missions: o Generate, validate, and file valid ATS flight plans and meet all CNS/ATM and RVSM standards o Produce and graphically display optimum mission routes, fuel calculations and aerial refueling activity for all AMC aircraft and missions o Calculate optimized fuel loads for all types of AMC missions and include Cost Indexing (CI) o Include a graphical user interface and allow dynamic re-computing of flight plans o Have the ability to modify fuel, performance, and routing parameters pending tactical needs and IAW AMC policies • Provide the following reporting and interface/displays: o Create, modify, preview, save, store, send, retrieve, and print flight plans in the dispatch center and remote locations o Export information for filing flight plans and providing flight information to aircraft, aircrews, mission planners, dispatchers and command and control systems • Include the following Information Technology (IT) Characteristics: o Import, store, and manage data from multiple sources for required flight plan processing and be compatible with AMC Command and Control systems o Communicate with external agencies including Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network (AFTN) addressees and ATC Agencies for mission coordination and flight plan filing o Meet DoD security, interoperability, and performance requirements and meet all AMC data management policies At Industry Day, AMC will present/describe the detailed requirements and scope of desired integrations. Attendees may sign up for a 30 minute session in the afternoon to ask any questions concerning the requirements. Interested companies that have existing flight planning systems are invited to attend the informational Industry Day on 13 May 2011 for more detailed requirements. Email AMCIndustrydays.org@scott.af.mil NLT 11:59 pm CDT on 10 May 2011 with intent to attend and location and directions will be sent. Subsequent to the Industry Day, AMC will accept a brief, UNCLASSIFIED white paper on capabilities and non-binding rough order of magnitude (ROM) costs on each applicable flight planning system. White papers shall be written using Microsoft Word; email to: Amc.a3r.resources.and.requirements@us.af.mil AND tiffany.rogers.2@us.af.mil no later than (NLT) 11:59 pm CDT on 3 June 2011. Please do not include videos. The white paper should describe: 1) the company's material solution that would fulfill the given requirements, 2) how the material solution would be integrated into air mobility operations, 3) timeline for operational implementation, and 4) ROM. Information gained from Automated Flight Planning Industry Day may be used to determine the feasibility to pursue commercial replacement of the current Advanced Computer Flight Planning capability. Additionally, information gained may be used to inform senior leaders and become the basis for defining requirements. The information requested herein will be used within the Air Force/DOD to facilitate decision making and will not be disclosed outside the agency. The Air Force/DOD will not discuss, accept, or evaluate any unsolicited proposal from any industry representative. Additionally, the appearance of any industry representative is not intended as, and does not imply, any endorsement of, or preference for, the particular industry representative. Attendance is strictly voluntary and at contractor's expense. The government will not reimburse any costs related to contractor abstract/presentation submissions or attendance.
