Description
Request For Information - Reutilization/Reuse of Government Furnished Equipment The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support is seeking proposals from interested parties for reutilization and re-use of two (2) pieces of Government owned plant equipment (GFE). In order to qualify your firm must hold a current active contract with DLA Troop Support Operational Rations Branch. Please indicate your contract number or numbers and brief description of items supplied when replying to this announcement. The equipment will be supplied on an as-is, where-is basis and the successful firm will be responsible for rigging, transportation and any costs associated with restoring and upgrading the equipment. Both machines are crated and are in storage in Marengo, Indiana, USA. All equipment will remain the property of the US Government. The agreement for lease and use of the equipment by and between the Government and the successful offeror will be for a period of five (5) years. The equipment consists of a Raque Heat Sealer and a Tiromat Horizontal Form Fill Seal (HFFS) machine. A report prepared by Rutgers University for DLA Troop Support indicates that the Raque Heat Sealer will require substantial upgrades to its Control System, Evacuation System and In-Feed System. Total cost for these repairs and upgrades is estimated to be approximately $350,000. However, investing this sum will leave this machine in state-of-the-art condition. The Tiromat HFFS machine was upgraded several years ago and it is capable of forming quad film. This machine can be used as is. Please provide a statement which describes in detail how your firm will use this equipment. Why should DLA Troop Support lease this equipment to you? How will you use it? What problem(s) will it solve? How much monthly rental or lease would you be willing to pay? Proposals may be submitted electronically to peter.laverghetta@dla.mil by the closing date of Tuesday, May 31 2011. Questions? Email or call (215) 737-7502. Submit a hard copy to: Pete LaVerghetta, FTG, 6B151 DLA Troop Support 700 Robbins Ave Phila PA 19111
