- Description
- This is a Sources Sought Synopsis for acquisition planning purposes; all qualified concerns may submit capability statements for consideration. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) will use the statements as a basis for planning the acquisition and determining the availability of sources. NAVFAC has a requirement to service and repair four Lighter, Amphibious Re-Supply Cargo, Five-ton (LARC-V) crafts. Service includes performing identified tasks, such as LARC disassembly, removal and replacement of specified parts, reporting on additional issues, re-assembly, and operational evaluation. Repair includes additional work identified by the contractor in service reports and awarded in subsequent contract modifications. NAVFAC will service two LARCs per fiscal year (FY12 & 13). As the LARC is not a commercial craft, the contractor must perform using only technical manuals and drawings for guidance. The LARC ™s non-commercial nature matters as the contractor must effectively and efficiently service and repair a craft with which industry has little experience. Capability statements should not exceed five pages and should include: 1. business name, address, and point of contact; 2. business size and type (8(a) Hub-zone, Service Disabled Veteran, Small Business or Large Business); and 3. descriptions of related experience. When detailing related experience, please describe how the experience is relevant to this acquisition. If interested, please submit a capability statement to Michael Fanizzo, Jr. at Michael.fanizzo@navy.mil by close of business on 1 June 2011.
