- Resolve Parking Lot Settlement Issues, Project No. 534-08-106 Provide services to improve storm water drainage of the 5.1 acre employee parking lot by means of milling and asphalt overlay. The Project includes Jet-Vacuum cleaning of the existing Medical Centers ™ storm drain system, abandonment of one monitoring well (per DHEC guidelines), survey work to reestablish parking row control points and resetting existing chain link fence along Lockwood Blvd., install new chain link fence and gate at southern end of parking lot, demolition of existing extruded curbs, elevate manhole and junction boxes, new extruded concrete curbing, curb paint, expansion of parking lot into grassed areas, asphalt milling, asphalt overlay, temporary and final pavement markings, installation of new loop detectors for parking gates, and minor landscaping. Landscaping will include: existing tree protection, root pruning by licensed Arborist, establishment of new planter areas, relocation of two (2) existing Palm trees, planting of one (1) new 3-4 inch dia. Red Maple (B&B) and placement of hardwood mulch in new planter areas. Fifty three (53) existing concrete wheel stops will be removed, repainted, labeled and replaced on parking rows 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D. One hundred and twenty eight (128) existing concrete wheel stops will be removed for recycle. Concrete curb and asphalt millings will also be recycled. BREIF SYNOPSIS OF WORK: Required: Due to daytime use of the parking lot, construction operations will take place in the evenings, after 6:00 pm and will be completed in sufficient time to allow normal parking lot access at 6:00 am each morning. All work is to be performed at the Ralph H. Johnson VAMC, Charleston, SC in accordance with the specifications and drawings. The Completion Time (from Notice-To-Proceed) is 132 Days. The estimated construction cost is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. Consideration is limited to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses, and the solicitation will be issued as a sealed bid. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 236220 and the Small Business Size Standard is $33.5 Million. This notice is issued subject to the availability of funds and is not a request for proposal.
