Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1), with Janis Research, of Wilmington, Delaware, for an upgrade and refurbishment of Top Loading Closed Cycle Refrigerators (TLCCRs) Sample Positioners, currently being used by the NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR), in Gaithersburg, Maryland. ***The Sole Source determination is based on Janis Research being the original equipment manufacturer of the TLCCRs, capable in providing upgrades and refurbishment services in accordance with the original equipment specifications. Janis Research is the only known vendor capable in providing the required upgrade/ refurbishment services. ***Delivery shall be FOB DESTINATION and be completed in accordance with the Contractor's commercial schedule. *** *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811219, and the size standard is $19 Million. ******A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. *****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. However, responses received by June 3, 2011 will be considered by the Government.
