Description
The extent of work includes the complete cleaning and application of stucco to ± 4,000 square feet of side walls on the Center's School (Building 13). 1. Pre-Installation: The successful bidder shall inspect the existing walls, determine a stucco application, showing seams and penetrations, and submit it to the center's contact person along with the required related submittal items. The successful bidder shall not commence work until the stucco submittals have been approved. 2. Demolition: Dispose of all demolition materials off site in an authorized landfill. Sweep and prepare all surfaces clean and neat prior to applying new patching and stucco to the walls. The condition of the walls must be inspected and approved by the Center. 3. Insulation: At windows, the detrition is worse, and may have to be backed up with cement board, approval by center. Use only material approved by a manufacturer that is compatible with the materials used to stucco.. Use the manufacturer's standard pre-molded flashings, joint covers, inside and outside corners. 4. Window Drainage: Install Z bar flashing at windows and install skirt flashing and damp proof the wall above the skirt flashing. The contractor is required to provide and install all necessary elements as required for a complete installation. Flashing should be preformed where possible on round penetrations. Metal flashing joints and coping joints should be caulked with an approved caulking. Other flashing for roof penetrations should be in conformance with the NRCA Roofing and Waterproofing Manual recommended flashing details. 5. COLOR; If a color is desired for the stucco it will be decided by the center. 6. Warranty & Certification: The Contractor will provide a 2-year installers warranty and a 10-year watertight manufacturer's warranty. The installation shall be inspected by the manufacturer's technical representative in the following sequence: a. Inspect the wall prior to installation of any materials. b. Inspect the stucco installation. c. Inspect the window installation d. Inspect the installation of flashing. e. After the completion of each inspection, the manufacturer's Representative should submit a written approval to the Center Director or Representative. f. Final Warranty inspection of the entire installation. A MANDATORY WALK THRU WILL BE HELD JUNE 2, 2011 AT THE RED ROCK JOB CORPS CENTER AT 9:00 AM
